Hans Storsberg
If you want a taste of the music in Central New York, an excellent choice is Hans Storsberg. He plays beautifully composed melodies on his acoustic guitar that will leave you genuinely moved. His music needs no extra embellishments- an acoustic guitar with Hans’ vocals that create touch of a jazzy feel fused with latin, folk, and funk that’s all that the listener needs.
My personal favorites, oh too many! I love the haunted quality that “Divine” has, it left me so relaxed (hear it on his website!). “Ghost” is a beautiful song that is more up tempo but still has that haunted feeling that Hans’ voice can bring. For a more upbeat song, I connected with “Will She or Won’t She”. Both “Ghost” and “Will She or Won’t She” are on his Who’s Les Blah CD found at the site below.
Hans also plays locally frequently. Friday February 24th he’ll be playing at Ophelia’s Place in Liverpool, then on Saturday April 14th he’ll be at The Tramontane Cafe in Utica followed by April 20th at Taste The World Coffee in Oswego. Find his other dates on his website.

From beautiful earrings and bracelets to tailoring and fabric repair, dog bed slip covers to makeup and dice bags, whatever your need the chances are pretty goog that Ryan Susan Greenfield makes it! Ryan is the owner/creator of Ever Wylde Creations. She does commissioned work if asked and has an Etsy page if you just want to browse what she has pre-made.
Her dice bags are beautifully embroidered- celtic knots, dragons, and unicorns. For those of you who are frequent game players or love to dress up for the Renaissance faire, these are beautiful. Her white and silver marble dangles are not only one of my favorites of her work, but are also very beautiful, as is the rest of her work! To top it off, her creations are very affordable and would make great gifts!
If you’d like to contact Ryan about a project, don’t hesitate to email Ryan at: EverWyldeCreations@gmail.com .

Body art- a timeless tradition. If you are looking for some beautiful body art but aren’t ready to commit to a tattoo, or if you’re like me and just like to constantly change it up, henna is a great route to take. Henna lasts about 1-3 weeks and is completely gorgeous.
An awesome local vendor for henna is The Art of Henna by Cheyenne, based out of Fulton. She does designs with mica, lasting 1-3 days, henna with glitter or gems, jagua art, and every size design you can imagine! From vines and flowers to birds and butterflies, words and Chinese symbols, traditional paisley or fearful skulls, Cheyenne’s designs are unique and beautiful. From your toes to your fingers, Cheyenne will do a design on almost any part of your body. Her work is intricate and extremely reasonably priced!
Cheyenne also does henna kits, crafts with henna, or gift certificates, all of which would be perfect gifts for loved ones.

If you are one of those people like me who know the value of a beautiful soap, you’ll love Ana Boyden’s Waverly Place. Located in Central Square, Ana’s soaps are so delicious looking that you could practically eat them! She also makes beautiful luminaries, candle boxes, custom candle holders, and various decoupage crafts.
The details on each piece is meticulous and shows the care and consideration that Ana puts behind her work. From embossing or embedded details to tie dye and shimmer dust soaps, soap that looks like cupcakes or cinnamon buns to coffee-oat exfoliating soap, fun tuti-fruti loaf soap to the absolutely gorgeous cameo soap, each piece is a work of art. Ana also does custom work- so feel free to ask about your other needs- whether it’s bath salts, lotion, or other personal care items. Each item is unique and original- so rather than just some piece of soap, you are getting a piece of artwork.
Whether it’s a gift for a loved one or if you just want to spoil yourself, Waverly Place is a great local crafter for your crafting needs! The three pieces that I am dying to get my hands on are the custom designed photo candle holder- what a beautiful way to display children’s pictures as well as a memorial to one who has passed away, and of course the two food-themed candles- cinnamon buns and cupcakes- YUM! My mouth is watering looking at them!
